My Heart & Soul

Hi! I’m Amy Jo (or A.JO), a wedding and lifestyle photographer based out of Coeur d’Alene, ID.

I’m a sister, daughter, wife, dog mom, and a really bad thrower. I lived on a sailboat for a year, completed an IRONMAN triathlon, survived a few strokes and heart surgery. I was a college steeplechaser, I lost my mom at a young age, I get way too excited over coffee, craft beer and nature in general. I love sleeping in and when I find a song I like, I listen to it on repeat for two weeks until I can’t stand it anymore. I’m always up for a challenge and I don’t sit still for very long. I’m an old soul at heart. But out of all the titles, descriptors and categories I’ve been put into over my life, being a photographer is pretty high on my list.

I've been doing this photo thing for almost a decade now, and it's evolved in a way I never imagined. I look back on the places it has taken me and the friendships it has created and I can’t help but smile and feel grateful that I get to surround myself in a world of love, laughter, new friendships and wedding cake.

More than my passion for photography is my love for people. I value relationships and experiences over any golden light or stunning landscape . My primary focus is to build a relationship with anyone who's in front of my camera, and know them as more than a client or subject. I'm a strong believer that it's important to make a connection with whoever I'm photographing so that I can truly tell their story in a genuine way. 

My goal is to not capture your smiles, but capture your souls, for that is what a true photograph does.
